Communications Specialist

Matrix Solutions is the market
leader in providing sales management solutions for the media industry.
The Marketing Communications Specialist is primarily responsible
for the development and execution of the company’s marketing
plan. This includes managing public relations (PR) and developing
and coordinating the marketing communications mix for Matrix Solutions,
including print and web production, SEO and advertising, collateral
and presentation development, social network activities, event
support, creation of sales tools and execution of lead generation
programs.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with senior management,
develop a yearly marketing communications plan based upon corporate
and product goals.
- In collaboration with product management
and sales, develop and determine marketing communications activities
on a quarterly basis.
- Identify and implement programs to build
market awareness, including search engine optimization (SEO),
speaking opportunities, placing feature stories, by-line articles
and op-ed pieces, and maintaining and developing media contacts.
- Refresh and maintain content on the corporate
web site, working with webmaster.
- Develop and manage marketing projects including
customer communication, sales tools, sales literature, advertising,
email campaigns, direct mail, tradeshows, customer conferences/visits
and other events to support direct sales as well as future potential
partnerships.
- Select, manage and coordinate with vendors
to produce promotional and other marketing materials.
- Manage overall schedule and requirements
for contract marketing resources.
- Maintain Corporate Identity standards (style
guide) across the Corporation and with future potential partners.
- Maintain Marketing library to ensure that
marketing materials and sales tools materials are current and
accessible.
- Use CRM system to manage email campaigns,
marketing contacts, and other related activities
- Help develop and track marketing communications
budget
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism,
Communications, Business or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of marketing experience in
a technology company, preferably software
- Excellent communication skills – written,
spoken and presentation – to both technical and non-technical
audiences
- Experience with web site development, web
marketing, SEO, and social networking
- Experience with customer relationship management
(CRM) systems and lead generation
- Excellent project / program management skills
- Knowledge of media or advertising industry
a definite plus
- Experience with web and graphics design software
a definite plus
- Experience with video preparation a plus
- Good team player, enjoys challenges and is
highly motivated
- Good judgment, time management, problem and
decision-making skills
- Demonstrated experience in leading as well
as collaborating within a cross-functional team
- Business acumen as demonstrated by the ability
to organize, clarify and communicate complex or ambiguous ideas
effectively to various internal constituents.
- Ability to distill communications content
into effective presentations for executive management, sales
force, and others.
